BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS
FOCUS has been reaching out to international students in Singapore by organizing the following activities:

- Freshmen welcome events for new students in Singapore
- Talks/workshops for international students
- Celebrating major festivals
- Social outings and international student gatherings
- Connecting international students to host families in Singapore

We currently work with local churches and Christian agencies for all our activities. These partners assist in providing facilities, friendship volunteers

and host families for our events. Where appropriate, we also work with campus organisations and student groups on joint projects and events to

facilitate access to the students.

Host Family Programme

International students have the opportunity through this programme to visit Singapore families, befriend them and be immersed in Singapore life. Many enduring friendships have been built through the Host Family Programme.
Talks and Workshops

We have held talks or workshops in tertiary institutions on topics relevant to international students such culture shock, cross-cultural 
relationships, careers, stress, success, dating, and other ‘life skills’.
Celebrating Festivals

We have organized special celebrations of festivals such as Chinese New Year, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many of these celebrations are also organised by host families for their international friends.
